So I think someone said they had seen one of those big recifiers failed in a golf cart charger? I can imagine that, a 50 amp rectifier running near 50 amps pushing a golf cart battery might fail. I have never been tasked to repair a golf cart charger. The larger battery and lift fork truck charg

Cool, so I wonder why anyone would not want the main and backup ignition power source selection automated in this way, Like why experience ANY ignition power failure in flight? I suppose maybe some manual control for preflight testing is in order but once you are on a takeoff roll it seems like "b

Jeff you know I like the SDS system one controller can do EFI and Spark the other plug can be covered by the CPI unit. I cannot find it now but there was a great Podcast on the topic of SDS VW's http://www.sonexflight.com/58/Peter_VanSchalkwyk_SDS_EFI_Talk.pdf http://www.sdsefi.com/vw.htm On Wed

Thanks John. I am an Electrical Engineer by degree but have been in management for many years so I haven't done hands on EE design in some time. I can tell you from my experience and I've had three complete engine failures all three self-induced. And when that engine quits that prop stops. I have had a 52 inch and a 54 inch prop and at 65 to 70 mile an hour it will not spin that prop. Sent from my iPhone > On Nov 16, 2022, at 7:46 AM,

Yes, it is a bridge rectifier.. If you use two of the four diodes within, you'll have the results I had mentioned. These are cheap and mass produced. I have been a full time electronics technician since 1984, never have seen one failed. They appear in a lot of equipment in the AC to DC power con
