Hello fellow netters, I have been reading the recent posts concerning the Kr-2
both the original and stretched version and the concerns for training and
operation limits.
First, I would like to say, that I have built and flew my Kr-2, which is really
just a Kr-1.5, myself with it’s first flight
PLEASE use extreme caution when testing your flyable weight limits. We lost a
good friend (SteveJones) and KR pilot who was testing his weight limit by
placing sand bags in the passenger seat. Steve was turning to land in Florida
and was over the water when he lost control and went in the water.
I’m aware of the CG issues with two aboard. Prior to any training being done
steps will be taken to move that CG to the forward end of the envelope with
about 325 lbs of people aboard. We don’t need it to perform great, after all
it’s just a trainer.
