I had the good fortune to learn to fly at the Aero Club located at Holloman AFB. My instructors were all high time USAF trained pilots with a priority for following the rules and safety. Depending on the runway llength and width, I would have just asked you if you minded him passing on the other side of the runway with lots of cleaance, or it his place was going to be well off the ground before it got to your position - in any case the common courtesy of a call would have been
