Getting there a day or two before it officially opens and watching the
planes come in is the best part of Oshkosh. It's also possible to get
last minute camping in prime locations by getting there early. Some

Justin,
The KR Builders and Pilots forum may be in a bit of jeapardy, as I was
very skeptical that I'd be able to get there (given the weather) from
Alabama, and was not looking forward to the swarms of planes that would
be forced into OSH when the weather finally broke. Rob Schmidt, who

I'm actually at KOSH and plan to attend the Meet up tomorrow. This is the first
full kit build for myself and Mark.

Never felt in any danger really, visibility was good. Just too many Aircraft
for the ATC to handle. The mass arrivals got priority today, not the single
planes. ATIS still says 7:00 am.

Well, my plan did not work out. I am still in Watertown. The sky was clear but
the clogged up arrivals were a problem. I flew to Ripon but was in a gaggle
that was told to start all over again. They were asking for 1-2 mile spacing
and keep turning traffic away all day. I waited till 6:30 pm be

Craig,
No need, all airports just went VFR in the area. I shouldn’t have any trouble
this afternoon. Weather only improves now. Looks like beautiful day tomorrow.
What plane are you flying in?
Thanks,
Rob

Rob, I was gonna fly up with Mark and Larry but the weather looks brutal. I've

Congratulations! I would assume by using the plural "we", you mean there is
more than just you building, so there should be a pair of KRs in Dallas soon?

Got to see a bunch of Wittman Tailwinds here. Had a few Spotted Cows last night
and talked aviation. Life is good regardless of weather delay.

Just wanted to announce to the group that we acquired a second KR2 and we will
be building it in Dallas. We arrived with the airplane late last night in its
now safely secured in its hanger in Arlington Texas to begin evaluation and
build plan. Great news...

Was probably a very good decision Larry. There was low cloud, heavy showers
and gusty winds from midday through the early part of the afternoon at
Oshkosh yesterday. Cleared later in the afternoon for a few hours to allow
a good many arrivals. Aircraft kept arriving till late evening but stopped
