I added two vents from Aircraft Spruce, one on each side just in from of the
canopy plexiglass. They vented well, opening was adjustable and closed
tightly for cold weather. They require a (almost) flat surface. See at

The big difference is not the engine but the people that run them. Run a 2
stroke like it should be run and it will work just fine; try and run it like a
4 stroke engine and it will bite you. The majority of people that I know that
had 2 stroke engine issues, didn't know what they were doing
I owned and flew an Avid flyer with a Jabiru 2200. I really couldnt
bring myself to fly behind a 2 stroke which is why I bought one with
the Jab. I have friends who swear by the 2 strokes, but the fact is
they have more 'issues'. As to another aspect, the Jab was too nose
heavy for the avid desig
