Mark, looks great, Will be waiting to see how the chrome comes out. Surely
you'll still be cheaper than the stainless.

My insurance company said they would pay on the declared value given total
time, equipment, condition, etc. They ask why I was over insuring it. I told
them I wasn't going to accept 80%.

You really do not want to over insure. I will give an example. My neighbor
built an RV7 and insured it for $126000. after her 6 attempt at landing WITH
the wind she flipped it over on its back. She told the insurance company she
did not want it fixed, They told here it would cost $4 to fix
I am sure that some insurance companies do try to not pay under some
conditions, but I have not experienced that with AIG. I had a Piper
Clipper get destroyed by a microburst while it was not tied down and
they paid no questions asked. I had a Piper Pacer ground looped by a
friend and again they
You can't move the prop on a Mooney. I know that any of the O-320 and O-360
series engines the props can only go 2 ways. The prop is pined. The reason is
the prop is set up for compression stroke on #1 cylinder. Every High horse
powered engine I have owned the prop will only go 2 ways.

on the exhaust subject, my picture of Ken Rand original shows short
stub pipes. Obviously these take up the least real estate, and get
more heat out of the cowl. assuming backpressure needs can be
addressed with baffles (?) whats the downside?

Hi Mark -
Sure looks great - is the silver finish the home brew ceramic coating (TurboX)?
I assume your talking about having just the final pipe chromed.
I had my exhaust on the Osprey ceramic coated by JetHot about 15 years ago. I
think the cost was ~$300. I has held up pretty well (peeled of

Looks good Mark!
Go for a ceramic coating like Jet Hot.
It will last a little longer 😀

Looks good!
For plating it was common practice to use electroless nickle.
Personally, I would go with full ceramic coating both inside and out.
Probably cost a little more.
Nice job..
