The Polliwagon stirred up a lot of interest at the time but didn't survive. Once Ken Rand & Stu Robinson paved the way with composite construction all sorts of interesting things began to happen. The VariEze came out two years after the KR and we all know what a phenomenon Rutan's designs became.
