Is a Lycoming O235c engine too big for a Standart KR2?

Yes, you MUST have a visual indicator to KNOW that it is FULL UP or not. I use
a micro switch connected to a warning light right in the center of my view out
the front. Don't leave home without it.

No indicator. I also found that it worked for me, the best, all the way up,
or all the way down. I got my actuator stuff from Steve Glover and it has
always worked perfectly. The wiring would be different for each
installation and I don't have my diagrams.

For those builders that are electrically challenged, a brief
definition of terms on switches.
"C" is the "common" terminal and will connect to either the "NC" or
"NO", depending on which position the switch is in.
"NC" is the "normally closed" contact and, as the name implies, is
connect
Here are a couple of photos of my motor as installed. I used a
Cessna flap motor, a bit heavier than necessary, and removed all the
extras off the end of the jack screw. I also used a Cessna flap
switch, center off, momentary down, up off.

?Sid,?I don't know of anyone that has a position indicator other than full up
or fall down and they do that with micro switches.

Does anyone have an electric flap or belly board wiring diagram they could
share? What do you use for a flap or belly board position indicator?

I don't really have an indicator but use my amp meter to tell full up
or full down. My motor draws enough

Isn't ?a belly board either full up or full down? ?Maybe a micro switch with a
light showing that its not up.For the flaps. Maybe some type of mechanical
visual indicator to look at.?

Anyone have a KR2S engine cowl you could part with? I have a nice KR2
engine cowl I could part with.
Hello all,
I?m looking at engine options for my plans built KR2. Have any of you used a VW
engine with the prop bolted to the flywheel? What adjustments did you have to
make? Thanks.
