Even if that head machining left little or no material between it and
the pushrod location, doesn't the cylinder seal against the head, thus
making that possible or real gap in the head material immaterial to the
leakage problem?
Looking at the picture of the head again, there is discoloration
If I recall correctly, Great Plains says that they don't use oversize
valves because it can/will cause cracking in the head between valves...
and they don't use aluminum pushrods.
I have seen other engines use aluminum pushrods with steel caps with
excellent results, but those were not made the

shooting and consultation with Revmaster, he took off the heads. The
exhaust valve pushrod was bent. The valve pushrods are aluminum tubes with

lock on the shaft (as we all know . . . don't know why I mention it . .

For some reason a lot of people are scared of the composite part of
building a KR. As evidenced by the plethora of KR projects that get
sold in the boat stage just before the composite work starts I would

who purchased the airplane last year and asked me to hold it till the
weather was good for transporting it has backed out of the deal. The
website to look at Bob's plane and work is www.krnet.org/krs/bob
just take the period off the end and there will be no problem.?
