I never heard back from GP and after reading a lot of stuff on coil leads in various forums and websites I discovered that at least two makers of coil ignition leads have a product that has very low resistance, 40-50 Ohms, yet still block radio frequency interference and electromagnetic interference (RFI and EMI). So they say. It's worth a try. The two I found are from MSD and Taylor. I ordered the ones from Taylor, their universal four lead set along with a crimping tool. They are 8.2 mm and are advertised as 40 Ohm's per foot. With the tool it came to $65 with free shipping. eBay.
My current old Taylor leads have a lot of resistance. More than when they were new. So I may not have coils getting weaker but rather I just may have leads that have broken down internally so badly that they can't get the voltage to the spark plugs (at least on that one cylinder that's missing on the secondary system). I'll report back after I receive them and get them put on. I also ordered some new leads for the car thanks to a Netter mentioning that car leads wear out too. Nothing fancy, just A.C. Delco for my old Oldsmobile. The ones for the plane though are pretty sophisticated if they do indeed block rfi/emi yet have so little resistance between coil and spark plug. These high-tech Taylor leads are called ThunderVolt. Mike KSEE ____________________________________________________________ Old School Yearbook Pics View Class Yearbooks Online Free.
