Gear Legs: We made a set of aluminum gear legs for Steve Glover (NVAERO) before he called it quits. They are made from 2024t351 x .750" T. They were cut the same tapered shape I assume that the Diehl Legs are. I don't know if he ever got a chance to try them out. I think they are less tha

Dan; I have no experience in this area at all, but I just read the Sport Av article on the ten best homebuilts, and it reminded me of the Wittman Tailwind. Steve made his gear out of tapered steel rods, and they are some of the best by reputation. The Grumman Tiger blanks, if cut down the middle

Dan I built 6399U (KR2S) with the Diehl landing gear and have had no issues after 13 years of flying. I was so impressed with how stiff they were that I did not wrap them in fiberglass, I installed them as I received them. No problems so far.I have had several hard landings over the years with n

I often joke with the RV guys that I wanted to build a plan, not just assemble one. To me, part of this project is the path to discovery. Obviously there are certain components of the KR that need to be left alone and others that begged to be tweaked. With all the KRs out there successfully flyi

I am really curious about the reason for these posts. Why are not the Diehl legs the best for the KR? I am sure I must have missed something along the way. Or, is it just the overwhelming desire of KR builders to do it differently? See N64KR at http://KRBuilder.org -

Mr McCauley has it right. He said the wing with the aileron going up ( wing going down) has the increased throw to add drag. Adam Tippin A&P KR2S builder > On Dec 12, 2014, at 10:17 PM, Dan Heath via KRnet > wrote: > > I think that is backwards. You want the drag on the downward wing, on th

Thanks Peter, I have a set of these legs and I heard that someone has done just as you suggested, cut them in half, but I don't know how that worked out. They are 1" thick. I don't think it would be good practice to reduce the thikness not having any information on the stacking and I'm af
