My typo--O-235. Jeff, I look forward to meeting you one of these days, as well as the many KR fans on this site. I follow these emails every day--have been since July 2005 when I purchased my plans and began the building process. Jeff, your comments, advice, and experiences motivate those of us

Good points. My only point is that the reference to the leading edge in the plans is for the plans built kr2...and not the kr2s. The cg in terms of % MAC is pretty consistent because it is based on the airfoil shape alone. https://sites.google.com/site/mykr2stretch/ https://sites.google.com/site

The design of the KR was based on the Taylor Titch. A well respected plans seller for years. RR could have accepted that the design criteria was adequate and acceptable for the changes for the KR, Virg On 9/26/2014 2:41 AM, Mike T via KRnet wrote: > I agree with DJ, and I th

The only thing I would think you would even consider changing is to make the c.g. range in percentage of MAC only and not referenced to the leading edge, since any changes to the basic KR2 wing planform will affect the MAC...including, but not limited to...a per plans KR2S wing, extensions, winglet

Just before his accident, George McHenry removed his modified Lycoming O-230, about 110hp, and installed an O-320, 150hp. He was testing it when the incident took place. I spoke with him just days before to discuss my installation of an O-290 130hp (I'm taking extra precaution with CG, etc.). Georg

(hit "send" too soon) If they got a good lawyer, he'd kept telling the jury "twenty-seven YEARS they knew about this deadly design, and they HID it from the public!" The fact that Rand died in the prototype would also look good in the tabloids, even though that had nothing to do with spins. ("T
