Hi Paul I will follow you with interest. I met you at the KR gathering last

year hiatus. I cut my spars to the length in the plans and plan on the

I can fly through a stall with my feet on the floor, using only

be in the low 80's for percent power of my normal cruise speed.
Also, looking at the Diehl wing skin installation drawing, it appears as

Peter's got it right regarding efficiency. On long cross country flights,
I'm usually going to OSH or SNF, and I plan for 40 mpg @160 mph TAS.
Mike; Partial throttle yields maximum endurance. This is really valuable in
tailwind conditions, where it can result in skipping a fuel stop! My
Beechcraft drank 14 gals/hr at 75% and as low as 8 gals/hr at partial. More
haste, less speed!
Most aircraft have minimum induced drag at just ab

Let me retract thatI missed the part about adding an extra bay. Your
plan is a fine one, and likely what I will do on my next one...

Yep, I know a little something about that plane. Stock wings, 2" spacers
between engine mount and firewall. He liked to demonstrate how stable his
plane was. The weight and balance sheet
I think it is normal to move the engine forward about 2". It may have
something to do with the Diehl skins being a bit heavier than the stock
wings, or just that almost, if not all, KRs are being built much heavier
than the design weights published.

I'm cutting my horizontal stabilizers spars today. I think I have decided to

added another bay in the fuselage. Then add 3 inches on each side of the
elevator to accommodate the counter weight horns. What do you guys th

I don't have any definitive data, but I have had to move my 2180 VW 2-inches
forward from the plans location to get a more stable CG. Do the Di
