The different experimental airplane I lost a cylinder a couple of different times due to the piston skirt banging on the crankshaft unknown to me I was supposed to have filed the piston skirt down to the ride bearing sleeve. I can confirm that a KR with one person and a 2180 VW will climb on two cylinders, but the pucker factor is much greater than loosing two on a Vair for sure. >ML On the Corvair you could blow a spark plug out on takeoff and it wouldn't be much of an issue. Ask Bill Clapp, who's done that twice.

I extended the 3/32" plywood floor to the back side of the station "E" crosspiece at the aft side of the spar cutout. As for the 1/4" ply, I considered it as part of the load structure for the lower engine mount and left it in although I am also planning on hanging my rudder pedals / brakes from
