Folks
With all due respect anyone that has built , sold or purchased a
project or completed aircraft knows that labor on a dollar per hour basis
is never recovered in a sale. Usually 50 to 70 cents on the dollar for
materials is about all one expect. Sometimes less. We build for a variety

Graphite is the most corrosive material on the galvanic tables...it will
cause just about anything except gold corrode...just put a layer of
something in between to prevent it from conducting across.

Metal corrosion is often the result of galvanic activity between dissimilar
metals. Carbon Fiber conducts electricity and acts like a metal. When
carbon fiber and metal are in contact, galvanic action will cause the metal
to corrode. Stainless steel is resistant to corrosion
Why do you need to isolate carbon fiber and metal? Will stainless steel
hardware work ok?

I cannot tell you how just much fiberglass, but will give one thing to
consider about where you use Carbon Fiber. It will impede radio signals, so
keep that in mind. I used it on my seat back, so found this out later and
then put the antenna on top of the plane instead of behind the seat.

Coming up to the point of thinking about fiberglass. How much 5.85 oz.
glass and resin should I buy? I would like to make one order. I'm planning on
using carbin fiber for the engine cowl and canopy.
With carbon fiber it is important to isolate it from any metal with a layer
of fiberglass or something.
