How could you possibly rub and polish the recommended three layers of wax on
top of the PVA without literally tearing it to pieces. When dry it's only
the thickness of a single layer of onion.

You may be able to have your hernia surgery using a combination of nerve
block and sedation although it really sounds like it odd not worth the risk
of surgery.
