An interesting idea, but (there's always a 'but') I'd be concerned
with a reduction in the strength of the wing surface by the creation
of any 'hole' large enough to be accessible. To offset this might
require a considerable increase in weight to reinforce the area.
If I might offer
I would not recommend using the leading edge as storage as this is the most
critical part of the airfoil so between the spar's would be best.

My stub wings between the spars will be virtually empty because of the control
system I am building. I am thinking of putting a small baggage compartment in
each wing or hinge the leading edge and use that as baggage space. Found
