I am considering purchasing a handheld as a backup to carry in my KR2, and
so far have read about 2 that look like they would do the trick and are
affordable at around $240 or so each.
They are the Icom IC-A24 NAV-COM
Did you do any tests to see if the hard shelling affects the weight of the
test blocks?

The hard shelling worked great for me but do a couple of small test

suppose to be over 90 hp.

I used 1.8 oz. Dacron glider fabric over the wood on my KR. No sanding at
all. Just stits poly brush over the wood and iron it to remove the rinkles.
