I and a friend we use/like kopete, but
at the same time we kind of hate it,
it works well but the user interface
is really bad from our pov.
We have several ideas to make it better
but we believe not everyone will like
it, we started a fork in gitorious named KIM
to get an idea of the cod

think this mockup brings Kopete to a more usable state:

IMO some of your ideas (eg. transparent contact list) are actually not well
suited for standard Kopete, but instead for a Plasmoid that lives in vertical
Plasma panel.
You can -- kind of -- already get a similar result by dropping Lancelot's

I attached a new version of the patch for libmsn
The webcam session is now managed in an own class (in msn/media/session.cpp),
so it is possible to have more than one webcam session and the connection is
now asynchronous.
