Just curious if anyone has run into any issues that might pop up in this
instance or if the installation and upgrading process would all be the same.
Thanks in advance,

Viktor,
That's an awesome and helpful answer. 😊
Thank you sir.
I look forward to getting our community Koha installation underway.
I just needed to get this question out. And I've learned a few things in
the process.
Happy weekend everyone.

versus on our own servers?
What steps might drastically change if we install Koha in the cloud?
Are there any security issues I should be concerned about in either case?
Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

Is it possible, though, to run Koha on a **VIRTUAL**Linux/Debian production
server which is actually a windows server?
Thanks,

Thank you Chris.
It looks like this is what we will need to do.
All the pieces are coming together slowly but surely.

One more question on the topic of virtual servers running on Windows...
What are people finding as good standard available RAM for Koha instances
on Virtual Servers?
2, Gb, 4Gb, 6Gb, 8 Gb, etc?
Thank you,
Jesse

I concur with the suggestion to use Marcedit.

I would consider MarcEdit and because it is fully integrated with Koha, you
can save records you modified in MarcEdit directly back into Koha.

Thoughts on this from anyone else?

Yes, very important. When you export from Connexion, export in utf-8
(which Koha defaults to of course) instead of Marc-8.
I can attest from experience that this is true!
You can change the export encoding in "options" if you use the client.
Hope this is helpful,

You might also reverse an import from records management if the affected
records were imported at the same time.
I hope this helps,

Jesse,
Thanks for the info. I do use the client, so I can correct that easily.
Another thought
indexing (880 fields) from working? Is this
perhaps tied to the tarball installation?
Should we expect the same difficulties when we update the main instance
then to 16.05? Or should we expect all other configurations to roll
smoothly into 16.05?
Thank you much,
Jesse

Thank you Katrin.
We are tackling that this week, trying to figure out specifically what
got changed in order to add 880 to the index list on the opther
instance. I know it wasn't on the default list. (This is why
documentation is so important). :)
Fingers crossed.
