In my case I got a 4.15 kernel working in my jumper ezbook3 pro, ubuntu
17.10, the touchpad was detected as ImPS/2 protocol (so as an extended
mouse) (enough for me), but after reinstall a ubuntu mate 18 (recent
kernel) the touchpad is detected with CyPS/2 protocol and does not work

I don't know if this is a bot, but... yes, this bug DOES affect me, and yes,
it's the same bug. Notice that the reporter, and other affected, had/have AMD
APUs, and are also using the "radeon" kernel module? It's the same bug in the
"radeon" open source driver, and it's still present.
And that's why I don't report bugs to lp.net / canonical. It's a waste of time,
most of its employees and volunteers are a waste of time and they barely care
about fixing the problems. Instead, they prefer to add even more bureaucracy to

I can confirm that the fix from fd.o (comment #10 ) works for me. I'm running
kernel v4.0-rc3 from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.0-rc3-vivid/ (not recommended
for unexperienced users...), and after removing the quirks from pm-suspend, the
machine recovers from suspend without

There are LOTS of reports of problems with suspend/resume related to kernel
4.4...
I can also confirm that Linux 4.4.9-040409-generic does suspend just
fine.

I'm wondering: since canonical people in launchpad.net insist on
creating new bug reports for different issues, and this one seems to be
solved for the op (comment #4) but not for everyone else (and people
seem to have different experiences: for some, not even 4.6 fixes it,
some still report freeze
