It happened when upgrading from ubuntu 17.04 to 17.10
On 17.04 everything worked as expected on battery.
Steps that I tried as you suggested:
* I booted into 4.10 kernel and with battery power the problem still happens
* I booted into 4.15 kernel downloaded from the ubuntu mainline repo and
I do not remember for sure but I guess it was the last kernel provided
with ubuntu 17.04. I upgraded 17.04 to keep in sync with security
updates. My guess is that it's the 4.10 "series"

Same issue here.
Dell XPS 15 9560, Ubuntu 16.04 (with the latest software updates), using
Nouveau driver and the latest firmware available from Dell.
With kernel 4.10.0-33, the computer freezes after I enter the password of the
login screen.
With kernel 4.8.0-58 the computer works well.

now I'm trying to remove "-d" option from "/etc/init/bluetooth.conf" but
when I'm saving the file, nano's editor ask me if I wanna save the file
as:
- M-D DOS fo
insert command: sudo mount -o remount,rw /
- edit file with: sudo nano /etc/init/bluetooth.conf
- remove -d option from: exec /usr/sbin/bluetoothd -d
- press CTRL + O for saving
- trying to press enter for apply changes, but nothing happen
What can I do?
