I have tested today with the latest Ubuntu 13.10 development release ISO: the bug is solved, the OS boot in live mode without any problem. Many thanks to all.

I've tried with a USB boot stick created with the Ubuntu Startup Disk Creator but I get the same error. I've tried the kernel options all_generic_ide floppy=off irqpoll without results.
