Title:
Soft-lockup
Hi, after initial joy, the nvidia 390 started to work after
kernel/driver updates i notice nvidia 390 is broken again.
latest kernel: 6.2.0-25-generic gives the nvrm copy error:
[zo jul 16 12:33:03 2023] [drm] [nvidia-drm] [GPU ID 0x0100] Loading driver
[zo jul 16 12:33:03 2023] NVRM: failed
Thanks for the update. I have applied the patch on 6.4.3 but no effect.
I see the following error in the kernel log -
```
Jul 16 12:51:26 andrew-laptop kernel: mt7921e :03:00.0: enabling device
( -> 0002)
Jul 16 12:51:26 andrew-laptop kernel: mt7921e :03:00.0: driver own failed
Jul 16
I can also confirm this one also on a HP 15s-fq4xxx series laptop
I tested this on the kinetic kernel 5.19.
In lunar / 23.04, there is no linux-objects-nvidia-535-6.2.0-25-generic
package, but the linux-image-6.2.0-25-generic package has been available
for some time. Package upgrades therefore insist on switching to nvidia-
dkms, no matter what I try to do. So I'm still on 6.2.0-24.
Here is my elegant workaround to the problem:
That is unusual if even the 6.2 and 6.4 kernels can't find the HDMI
I think "This was a regression introduced by Intel in 42.9!" should be
in the merge proposal.
It appears the nvidia driver doesn't support kernel 6.5 yet. This isn't
