v4.0-rc7-vivid (mainline kernel)
I only recently tried the BIOS option, after I upgraded to Vivid beta,
so I've also tried these LTS Live CDs now:
ubuntu-12.0
Christopher, I'm pretty sure it did but I haven't used the BIOS option
before. I went looking for a VT-d option in the BIOS and figured that
AHCI is better than IDE. I was wrong. :-)
"IDE Mode" is the default.

I've tested the v4.0-rc7-vivid kernel now and the bug is there too.
A "PCIE-to-SATAII/IDE RAID Controller BIOSv1.06.65" Option ROM kicks in
in "AHCI+IDE Mode".
Noted differences:

It's a rather new laptop so I've only had Trusty installed on it and
can't say if it's a new issue. Haven't been using Bluetooth so I didn't
notice it until now.
