The system now runs 5.11.0-34-generic which still has the bug.
Looking in my /boot the oldest I have is 5.11.0-31-generic which
introduced the bug as far as I can tell (thanks apt autoremove). I do
however update whenever the thing prompts me to so I would venture a
guess that whatever preceded 5.
I would urge you to reconsider the importance of this bug.
This change broke a working setup, with no apparent user-visible
workaround available.

No, it probably won't. I have not had much time, and on the red hat bug
tracker there is one case where the patch breaks suspend.
I do not know how to proceed or how to debug the issue, maybe adding a
quirk which disables the driver would be an option. I'll see whether I find
some more time next
I don't have much time and before I do any backporting, I want to get
the driver into a state where it will be merged into mainline linux.
There is one problem report where the touchpad is broken after
suspend/resume which needs to be fixed first, that's why I was asking
here in the first place.

system? I am on Ubuntu 14.04 and did not have any problems with
suspend/resume so far.

If you have these problems running Dota 2, you should try Mesa Git or wait for
Mesa 10. It contains several patches to remove lockups.
For me on Dota 2 the lockups are completely gone, probably they're also gone in
other applications.

my other comments above). I am now 100% positive this is linked to the
wifi (ipw2200 card). I loose all network connectivity, thunderbird gets
crazy (high cpu usage) and I see one or two kworker processes. Turning

On Ubuntu 13.04, my intel iw2200 resumes perfectly fine. The network
works after coming out of hibernate. I'll now test with a daily image.
