Problem:
The battery is not being detected in Ubuntu 22.04. The /proc/acpi/battery/
directory does not exist, and tools like upower and acpi fail to provide
battery information. Additionally, no ACPI events are detected when plugging or

This issue also affects my Thinkpad E14 Gen 2 since the release of Kubuntu
24.04. Actually, in my case it rarely works as it should, while most of the
time it doesn't. After years of using the trackpad, I was forced to switch back
to a mouse due to the persistent issues.

NOTE that I see the same problem if I boot from USB using the
downloadable installation image.
I select"Try Kubuntu" and the system just powers down in this odd way a
few seconds later.

Note that this isn't the only issue I have with 6.11.0=x kernels. My
Intel NUC just stops (no crash - just loses all power). That runs OK if
I use the 6.8.0-48-generic kernel from Noble (left there from teh
upgrade)

I would probably try the latest available stable v6.8 version, so
v6.8.12. It might be worth a shot to try the most recent stable mainline
version to, v6.12. Trying mainline 6.8 would verify whether it's an
upstream or an ubuntu-specific problem and trying 6.12 would show
whether there's a fix avai
With regards to the logs, whenever you're experiencing the issue, you
could grab the kernel log with dmesg and upload here. There might be
some clues in the kernel log as to what's going on or why this is
happening.
