This package needs to be pulled NOW. It disables almost all USB-3.0 and
USB-C ports completely.
Even though I had automatic software updates turned OFF (or so I
thought), my Mac Pro suddenly got a new kernel when I rebooted it this
morning:

ok, pleased to report that i did a forced reinstall of the new kernel
from proposed and it is now working fine on my E15 AMD Gen2. don't know
what went wrong the first time but glad the fix is good.

I just would like to add my (newbie) observation on the similar problem (maybe
it can be useful for developers).
I have laptop "HP ProBook 455 G7 (1F3M4EA)" with WiFi card RTL8822CE.
My system is LinuxMint 20.2 with kernel 5.13.0-23-generic.
I noticed that old routers with 2.4 GHz work fine wit
just to be clear, the updated bios shows as: R1AET40W (1.16) in the
bios setup screen.
can someone, who the new kernel works for, please confirm that they are
on this new bios version??

Yes we have to different problems. One is the boot problem, which is obvious
solved with kernel 24.
The other is the standby problem, that still exists with kernel 5.13.0-24.
Maybe there should be a new topic for the standby problem.

I have a keyboard a4tech KV-300h and the bug reproduce on windows too. I have
already tried to replace to another a new keyboard. The problem isn't gone.
I found out if I use embedded USB port of keyboard to connect a mouse then the
problem reproduce very often.
Also I tested my keyboard on macbo
As an update, I tried distro upgrade to see if newer mainstream kernel
would have an impact. No effect, bug still remains:

5.13.0-24.24 helps to me. With 5.13.0-23.23 my server don't boot at all:
it starts booting and then monitor goes into inactive state, so I don't
even have a way to see an error message.
