It would be great if we can resolve this ASAP. It's

I just complied and test the latest mainline kernel 5.9.0-rc1 from
kernel.org and problem is not fixed.
It might be the bios firmware need to be updated but given the old
laptop HP did not offer any update anymore.

MSFT0001:00 04F3:3140 is not an elan device.
with and without patch, no events are ever recorded by pressing or swiping the
surface of the TouchPad

Fails to wake up after sleep
Maybe I was too happy too soon. Today, using iwd, when the channel on
the 5 GHz network switched, the connection was lost but there was no
notification and it was impossible to connect to another ssid. The log
files didn't grow endlessly though.

I just found out that my Lenovo dock also affects this situation -- when
I undock my T480, wifi starts working properly. (No, the dock doesn't
have ethernet cable attached.)
Still, I had problems already before starting to use the dock, but wifi
performance was bearable then. With dock it is not.
