Can folks test this ISO and post back if it resolves the bug?

I installed 3.12. It's odd, just after installing 3.12 but still booting
into 3.8, I can't replicate the problem. Yet. I'll keep trying, will
report back in a couple days.

I have tested the Lubuntu Saucy beta2 ISO files now, live, installing
and installed. It is easy to provoke a crash using the kernels (i386 and
amd64), that come with the ISO files.
I installed the kernel in post #6 into this beta2 amd64 version, and it
has *not* crashed for me. But I have had no c

Just to double check, because I'm on a machine that I rely on for work:
I can grab the packages here: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v3.12-rc2-saucy/
And after installing them with dpkg, I can always choose to boot on the
regular 3.8.0 kernel, correct?

For what it's worth, I haven't encountered a hard freeze using zram with
both the 3.12-rc1 and rc2 kernels. Using the 3.11.x kernels from the
official repository, I am able to trigger a system lockup very easily
(e.g. running several Eclipse instances, or compiling a large project,
etc.)

Yes, Julien. That is the patch that I cherry-picked into the test
kernel.
That commit was Cc'd to stable, so it will make it's way into the 3.11
and other stable kernels through the normal stable update process.
I can submit an SRU request to have this commit cherry-picked into Saucy
