I have had the same random freezing problem with the PCs at work and at
home, totalling 6 in all. I have a second PC at home with Ubuntu 12.04
and does not have this problem. The 6 PCs with the freezing problem have

On different hardware GA A75 UD4H this is a very similar issue
regarding using EFI to install Ubuntu. Have tried from 11.04 and up to
13.04 all with same result ie does not run installer in EFI mode,

I'm absolutely positive this problem does not exist in 3.8.0-26, we have
6 heavy use KVM/QEMU host servers on it.
The bridge network loss definitely occurs on any of these servers, once
upgraded to 3.8.0-27, and/or 3.8.0-29. And it happens pretty quickly,
~1-2 hours max.

Still, it's older that the kernel I'm having trouble with.
Through synaptic, I downloaded some other kernels to test. Here is the

I updated the kernel from 3.8.0-27 to 3.8.0-29, I rebooted, the
3.8.0-29 kernel was used, and... two usb memories were no longer
detected.
I rebooted and chose the 3.8.0-27 kernel, then both usb memories were
detected.
I rebooted and chose the 3.8.0-29 k
