That is a weird issue, and I cannot replicate it. Also, I do not see anything
related between 24.05 and 24.08 that could affect it. Could you please try to
run skanpage with debug logging enabled and upload

Skanpage does not apply any lossy compression before saving. The intermediate
file storage is lossless.

Thanks for the reply.
With this, I can get an idea of what is happening.
The utushi backend is aborting the scan in the end for an unknown reason, and
sending the status code SANE_STATUS_CANCELLED.

Hmm, that sounds weird.
What scanner device are you using and do you know the SANE backend?
Does it also happen with Skanlite?
Could you please upload a short video showing the issue?

Skanpage currently already does that, though it is not configurable. It adds a

For clarification: you are using the flatbed for scanning, have selected
flatbed as the scan source, but it still aborts with the ADF empty error
message?
Do you know which SANE backend you are using? eSCL or

It should already do that, this a bug.
Could you please provide the model of your scanner and do you know by chance
which SANE backend you use?

which should be reported there.
As this is a network scanner, you could try use the generic eSCL or
sane-airscan backends to see

There is a bug in kquickimageeditor 0.5 causing this. There is now a version
0.5.1 which is supposed to fix this, but during my quick testing not fully for
the use-case in Skanpage. I may need to work around

Actually there is a bug in 25.04 and the suffixes do not get added, see

This will be fixed. However, the suffix is currently not customizable, so this

This has just been merged to the master branch, so it likely was not included
before in any packaged git version.
You would need a git snapshot from today of the KSaneCore library to be able to
test the fix
