One has to be fair here. The window manager kwin works just fine.
It is just the Plasma shell that messes up the panel. I now often find that the

I fear a lot of the "duplicates" also have backtraces for more than one of the

Kai told me that the point of passing a pixmap was to be able to show the
sender's face (if known) in the notification. That would be nice to preserve,
