I have installed 8.4.0 on my Mac. Now the audio is to hear, but the time
display remains at 00:00:00. So still not perfect. But thanks anyway for your
quick response.

Well, we don't make the screen black anymore. I think there was a bug in the
progress display with the QtAVPlayer. Are you on macOS?

So, what is then wrong with my installation? I have the newest version Sonoma
14.5 on my MacStudio. There was never a problem with audio files as far as I
