Updated to kernel 6.11.1 now and the issue is still there. So either the fix
from 6.10.11 is missing there or it is not the same issue.

Checked agian and the issue manifests slightly different with Kate 24.08:
When I open the file via "Recent Documents and Projects" the cursor will still
stick to being a pointer and will not change into a text

It still happens on Kate 24.08. Can also reproduce it on my laptop which is
using an Intel iGPU in case this is somehow related to GPU stuff. The laptop
is also running EndeavourOS / Arch.

Updated to Plasma 6.1.2 today and recorded performance data again for the
notebook and desktop.
On the notebook I can't really see a difference anymore between triple

A quick update:
It only happens when using CTRL + V to paste. It does not happen when using
middle click or the context menu to paste.
It is also unrelated to the text being formatted or not. In case of unformatted
