--- Comment #5 from hbr <nep...@pm.me> --- Checked agian and the issue manifests slightly different with Kate 24.08: When I open the file via "Recent Documents and Projects" the cursor will still stick to being a pointer and will not change into a text selection cursor initially. But when I move it out of the text area (e.g. to the menu bar) and back into the text area the cursor then changes.
