Hi,
at the moment i try to replace a proprietary GIS with OJ at my employer.
So I've some acceptance problems because the people compare OJ with the
old solution and miss some things.
One problem is the selection of objects. It would be nice if the user
can change the styling attributes for the
Hey! I'm definitely down to help out wherever I can. I don't know how much
help I can be on the coding end (all I have is a Computer Science course I
took this year where we learned Java) but I'd test things, help produce/edit
documentation, and be around to bounce ideas off of/work on conceptual

Dan,
It is great to hear that you are willing to help with the next release
of OpenJUMP! We are always trying to cultivate new members of our
programming and administrative team. I'll keep you in mind for
documentation and testing. Do you work with Linux by any chance?

Michael,
Thank you for the feedback. When you get time, drop me a short e-mail

Hi all! i'm working on a project, with OpenJump 1.3.1, that it needs to load a
set of ESRI Shapefiles from a path to any category of the map.
I`ve seen the following code to load a shapefile, of the method "open" from
DataSourceFileLayerLoader class. The problem is that this uses a monitor of

it does for me...maybe was some temporary think with the transatlantic

Hei Matthias,
as far as I know nobody is working on that.
Its great if someone steps a head and does things - and we are always
happy to give support when we are able to (i.e. know of the things)
If you need to do changes to the classes you mentioned, then send us
those and we will discuss it.
does it help you too look into this class:
com.vividsolutions.jump.workbench.datasource.AbstractLoadDatasetPlugIn
I think it is not used anymore...

Hi Matthias,
You are correct about the classes. Are you thinking of adding getters and
setters to AbstractSelectionRenderer? That won't cause any problems that I
know of. I wouldn't change the constructor though. Are you thinking of
persisting the style changes or keeping them just for the s

I have not yet looked closely. I tell you my suggestion for discussion.

Roger that. Thanks for the update Michael. I look forward to seeing
your new plug-in in action.

Hi all,
the function "Add Image Layer" from
the main-menu "Layer" is missing since OJ 1.3 (new menu-structure).
This function has some advantages to the sextante-raster-images. The
biggest for me is the
availability of the "Change Styles"-dialog via layer-context-menu with
