Michael,

Thank you for the feedback. When you get time, drop me a short e-mail
and let me know what you are working on these days.

You wrote: "it would be nice to release a last java 5 compatible
version (1.3.2 ?) before switching to java 6."

I have no problem with this, but I would leave the final decision up
to Stefan. I'll see if I can figure out a way to run OpenJUMP with an
older Java 5 JDK.

You wrote: "I think that a good priority list could be :
- bug fixes
- raster support (don't know if there are blocking issues as I don't use
it much)
- (if next version of JTS is released soon, synchronize both releases -
and drop the workaround we had to do in OJ)"

I'm going to focus on my bug fixes for now. If I have time, I'll look
at the JTS hack we implemented. I already printed out that string of
e-mails for some bedtime reading. But I want to avoid biting off more
than I can chew in two months.

You wrote: "If your plugins are independant from the core, maybe it
should not be
a constraint for a OJ release date. Or do you need some modifications in
the core to release your plugins ?"

My plug-ins do not depend on mods to the core. I could release my
ported plug-ins now, but I thought it would be nice to time the
release with an OpenJUMP release. This is similar to the way some of
the Eclipse projects work together. I won't be hijacking the OpenJUMP
release in any way. I'll just release my ported plug-ins from my own
SourceForge page on the same day. I thought it would be a nice touch
to have the extra functionality of my plug-ins for the new release,
but it isn't that important.

If Stefan and Larry have no objections, I'll get a wiki page up so we
can track the work on the next release.
