I have not used the Java Map Projection Library. However, I know that
the deegree Project has full support for map projections and would
plug-in very well with OpenJUMP. There is even a manual that was
written that explains how to use the library.

I hopefully have some time to do a bit of reading on git over the next 2
weeks. The only thing I know about git is what I got from a L. Torvalds
talk held at Google labs (on youtube) and sent on this list a while ago.
