would leave it for now.

Peppe,
What I want to do is modularize the code base so that we have the file
formats as separate modules.
This is separate from having the standard Open JUMP download bundle
which would have the core OJ application and a number of standard modules.
The advantage of modularizing is that users ca
I disagree. I think that Oj must have ECW. This is one of the best option OJ
has ever had since it loads ECW better than other raster format.

BTW there is an ermapper.jar in Kosmo, which provides a good ECW support (but
slower that OpenJUMP in load (I don't know if this is the
I think that we should take the ECW and MrSID plug-ins out of the core
OJ code base and make them into plug-ins, we can still bundle them with
an OJ release but can manage them separately.

Hmm, could be a bit risky to change out the dll files automatically since
AFAIK the ECW code in JUMP is not being maintained (David, correct me if I'm
wrong).

The reason I want to find out where this file is from, is so that in my
Maven build script we can specify a version number and make sure we stay
up to date if ER Mapper releases new versions with bug fixes.

Hi,
I've got no idea where is the origin of this jar file. It is always
delivered with OJ in /lib folder and it seems to be 18 kilos in size.
To make OJ work with ecw files I just copy ER Mapper dll's which I have
taken from the SDK into the /lib/ext folder.

Do you know which version of the ECW Jar file is and where to get it from?

Hi,
I made a new test with nightly build openjump-20071029-0019 and an image with
dimensions of 30148 by 47722 pixels (771 megabytes as compressed). Everything
works perfectly.
Directory list of ER Mapper dll's I have now:
21.10.2004 14:1453 283 NCScnet.dll
21.10.2004 14:14
Hi Peppe, Hi Jukka,
I wanted to point out that memory could be still be an issue for the
following reason: ECW DLL memory usage would not be reported in the OJ
committed memory display as it would be running in a separate process.
If someone can point me to a good benchmark ECW file, I will look

Subject: [JPP-Devel] Bug on ECW
Hi all,
I tested a previous version of OJ NB 20070902
It seems that ECW views disappear only when I zoom in
on the border of the view and then when I zoom out
using left click button. It doesn't happen zooming on
other central part of the view.
Anyhow I want to do other tests with another computer,
maybe it's a problem of javas installed.
NB OJRaster
Even the latest OJ NB 20071027-1954 has the same bug

Hi all,
I tested a previous version of OJ NB 20070902
Also this version has the same bug of OJ 20081018
* it opens ECW files (Ermapper DLL embedded)
* after zooming in(out sometimes the image disapears
This doesn't happen with JPG and TIF image (already
tested)
Regards
Peppe

I can confirm what I wrote before. OpenJUMP NB
20081018 has a bug on ECW.
when I try to zoom in on a ECW raster file, after a
couple of zoom, the image disapears
