well while u r installing redhat..u must not have created a
username and passwordbut must have only created a root
password..
username n pass are totally diff things from the root pass..try
reinstalling and this time make a username and remember it
try it out

You can boot in single user mode which does not require password. you will become root without giving any password. then you can change your password and reboot or go to Init 3 level

Dear Sir,
If you use LILO, press CTRL+X at the boot time and type linux single.
Then, type passwd and type a new password in the feild. If you
disabled linux single or if you use GRUB, I have no solution.

Hi Manik,
Just boot your system in Linux single mode (Press Ctrl+x when the figure
redhat appears and write linux ssingle) and change the password by giveing
the command "passwd" on the coming prmopt. Then reboot you rserver and try to
login with the changed password.
