blank hdd...and i want it b dual booted with the linux wich is pre

When you boot linux in single user mode. Give following command to change your HDD mode to read write again:-
# mount -t ext3 -n -o,remount,rw /dev/hda7 /
where, ext3 is your filesystem
/dev/hda7 is your root partition
Also check the Boot log message to know the problem.

That u can solve very easily..
Anticipate future requirements and partition the disk space
accordingly. For this you can very easily make changes in
partition values what I had mentioned there. Change them to suite
ur requirements.
