i am using redhat 7.1 under vmware. y'day i was optimising the hdd of
vmware and my system crashed. when i mounted the linux its giving me .
Partition check:
sda: sda1 sda2
VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly.
change_root: old root had d_count=3

reiserfs
fat (used to once upon a time in old slackware systems)
On the other hand if you want to know what goes where
well here is a short list
/etc - all configuration files
/bin - all binary files
/sbin -
ext3 is the courrently used file format

Here i ahve one problem in the linux. Whenver i reboot the machine routing
table
is not getting. As everybody knows that routing table info will be cached
and flushed when system is going down.
But some entries we can keep statically like loop back and default route.
