Hi all,
I was previously using RH 7.3 and at that time my CD writer was working
perfectly.
I have a SONY CDWRITER
These are the lines in /etc/sysconfig/hwconf

The following are the lines from dmesg

If any other info is required about my system please do tell.
But after upgrading the OS to RH 8.0 whenever i try to mount the drive the
system crashes and i get Kernel Panic.For getting the drive recognised i am
using IDE-SCSI emulation built-in-compiled into the kernel "append
hdd=ide-scsi" in lilo
.conf
Any ideas ppl please help i am suffering this for the last one month and
after trying for a long time i gave up and now i am using the drive as a
simple cd drive i have removed the append from lilo
