I have had bad experience with Segate Hard drive.
Western Digital one should never buy. You don't want
to loose all your data and go to company for
replacement on their 3 year warantee. Segate worked a
little more than Wester Digital.

40 GB hard disk gives problem if u select
autodetect in bios.It sometimes detects wrong number
of cylinders.You can go to bios and select the
cylinder numbers given(written) on the hard disk and
also select the sector info etc... as given on hard
disk .
