I am using ubuntu 12.10 OS and the default driver e1000e does not work. I
do not see ethX with ifconfig -a

I ran into a problem at installing ubuntu 10.10
I have sucessfully burnt the iso image to CD after checking md5sums.
But at installation, it quits while "copying files" quoting i/o error.
what could be the problem ?
is there a way to check the CD I have burnt ?

I see that the /tmp contents are not erased in ubuntu 10.4 at reboot.
Is this a bug ?
I dont have an explicit separate partition such as /tmp.

looks like this is an issue with torque unable to write to
/var/spool/torque/spool. This dir has 2777 permission and I could manually
copy to this dir.

well but the probem is that the moment my program crosses the memory limit
set by ulimit, the program gets killed. :-(

i notice that there are several implementatiions of c++ libraries such as
gnu libstdc++, apple sponsored libc++ which is default for clang and
apaches libcxx library and may be also boost libs.
but has anyone used these libs (other than gnus libstd++) and can comment
on their performance?

I am on a server and I could mount the NAS export on it. However it
appears like I need to create users on NAS also and authenticate inorder to
use it.

I ran xfs_check which segfaulted and then followe by "xfs_repair /dev/sdc"
