Hi guys;
A problem cropping up intermittently which I have not been able to
find a solution to. I have a PIII with an Intel board, shifetd to Deb
Lenny with LXDE to ensure low processr load. Work mostly on command
line. RAM maxed at 521 MB. Created swap space.
Monitor at 1024x768 AOC widescreen.

The Ctl+l shortcut refuses to clear screen as it used to. It has decided not
to obey bash and has
taken a life of its own; returns a puny 'l' ! Any solutions, I am in Squeeze!
Of course 'clear' still works.

as default! Noticed
the Ctl+Alt+F1 responds with Alt+F1 in the GUI; guess the Ctl button must be
the problem!

I was using the consonle mode, problem exists in the GUI as well, instead of

G54/N150. It works out of the box in WindowsXP. The relevant outputs below

1. Subsequent to my mail appended below, I removed/ purged LXDE. Ran xterm
as root, no problem. Copied the xorg conf.new from root to /etc/X11/Xorg
tried with the fresh configuration as user, no luck. Used the 'diff'
command to compare the Xorg configuration with that of the root acc
