[Ilugc] help: Sound problem in my compaq laptop

I own a compaq cq40 317tu laptop. After installing ubuntu 9.04, I see that there is no sound output in my system. I configured ALSA mixer and all other sound settings seems to be fine. Please do help me to sort out the problem. Thank you -- sathish
