Hi everyone,
I would like to test the effect of the option ALLOWAUTOALT=YES in a coupling
for a specific structure and decided to do it with teh ISGLOCK with a sandbox
systems. So, I defined the minimum value for this one and rebuild it. From
report monitor III, I can see only fulfilled at 0.1%.

Hi,
A client wants to install a z/OS 2.5 on a z13s with nothing else than a z/VM on
it.
I try to find the steps I should play to be able to IPL the z/OS. I just find
how to succeed an upgrade from a previous z/OS...
I can't find the clear method to do it from scratch...
Thanks

Hello all,
Somebody will have an example of exit 40 to implement conditionally purged
processing by return
code. Indeed, we have 35 000 job/day and don't kept job with rc=0, but just
kept job step ends with a return code higher than 4.

Why an exit and not a jes2 command to purge output ? because our issue concern
the cpu consumption of jes2.
Indedd with 35000 sysout by day, jes2 is the biggest consumer of cpu to handle
his spool. We will prefer to purge the sysout from the source than send a purge
command every x minutes.

As you said, it's just an assumption, not an assertion. I miss the exit to test
and confirm.

Hello Lizette
We are running in z/os 1.13 and i'm not sure also if an exit will be faster
than a command, but the exit will purge immediatly the sysout. We have open an

Hi,
It's because to support 256k when writing and reading a tape, adrdssu use know
bsam rather than excp for dump /restore.
Unfortunately, it's the default, thus to have a good throughput, you use more

To avoid that, code PARM='USEEXCP=YES' with DCB=BLKSIZE=65520 on the output

Hello,
We migrated in z/os 1.13 and decided to put in place the CEEPRMxx member for
the LE. But for some applications (cobol II), we need to ovveride the option
RTEREUS to ON and it's not possible, even with the CEEOPTS (not compatible),
neither with parm='', nor with CEEUOPT, nor with CEEDOPT.
Hello,
I observed a blksize of 16k for all ml2 migrated dataset (seen on the CA1
product). I use DSS as datamover and
i'm wondering about the size concerning the blksize. Why dss don't use 256k
since zos 1.12 ?
Everybody will have an answer. thank's

Mark,
From a defined lpar you can use as you want, you will be able to restore via
ftp on 3 10017 cyls free dasd (d9ecat, d9esy1, d9esy2) from hmc.
Then you can create a new zvm directory (mvsdvr for example).
Your dasd have to be added in it at addresses 120-122 (from memory) and osa
