Anyone remember z800?
It was assembled by Hitachi, I don't know why. Note, it is about z800,
not z900.
Regarding plant codes the machine I used had 83 code - so it seems a bit
more complex. Perhaps IBM did not assign separate code for Hitachi.

I recall when we got a new machine (maybe a 3090) there was a cable
linking the two parts of
the double processor, and this cable had a defect. The replacement cable
had to be fetched from Montpellier,
so they chartered a taxi for that. Our site is in Stuttgart, Southern
